Holy Trinity Anglo Indian International School is committed to the safeguarding and wellbeing of all children.
HTAIS recognizes that it has a duty to ensure arrangements are in place for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and we will carry out this duty through our teaching and learning, pastoral care, extended school activities and daily site management. Our aims are prevention, protection, and support. This applies to all pupils, staff, parents, governors, volunteers and visitors.
It is expected that our children will, at all times, flourish in a safe and stimulating environment; they should feel safe and secure and encouraged to relate to trusted adults. We will endeavour to provide activities and opportunities that will equip our children with the skills they need to stay safe. This will also be extended to include material that will encourage our children to develop essential life skills.
We have a Safeguarding Policy and procedures in place, which all staff must ensure that they have read and understood. Parents, carers, and students also have access to our policy on the school website. There are posters up around school that detail the safeguarding team and how to contact them.
Sometimes we may need to share information and work in partnership with other agencies when there are concerns about a child or young person’s welfare. We will ensure that our concerns about our students are discussed with his/her parents/carers first unless we have reason to believe that such a move would be contrary to the child or young person’s welfare.
We have a designated safeguarding team that incorporates a Subcommittee to deal with school safety.
